Prices range from US$80–200 per night depending on the room type and services included — that's US$1,600–4,200 for a 3-week stay.
A normal furnished apartment in the same zone, booked for 3–4 weeks, runs COP 3.0–6.0M total (~US$960–1,920) — often half to a third of the recovery house cost. What you lose is the on-site nursing and post-op support. What you gain is privacy, a full kitchen, and the ability to recover at your own pace without a medical-facility atmosphere.

Which Clinics Are Where (and Where to Rent Near Them)
Your rental location should minimize travel during the first week post-op, when mobility is most limited. Here are the major facilities and their closest rental zones:
Clínica Las Vegas — El Poblado (Calle 2 Sur No. 46-55)
One of the most-used facilities for cosmetic surgery, right in the heart of Poblado near the Milla de Oro. The entire Manila–Astorga–Poblado Park zone is within a 10-minute taxi. Best rental zone: lower Poblado, Manila, Astorga. Furnished 1BR: COP 4.5–7.0M/month.
Clínica El Rosario — El Centro (Carrera 50A No. 64-93)
One of the oldest and most respected hospitals in the city, in the downtown core. Rental options near El Rosario are more limited and estrato 3–4 — the zone is urban-dense and less comfortable for recovery than Poblado or Envigado. Many patients rent in Laureles (15-minute taxi) and commute for follow-ups. Best rental zone: Laureles or Estadio.
Hospital Pablo Tobón Uribe — Robledo (Calle 78B No. 69-240)
High-level medical care, further from the usual expat zones. Nearest metro: Caribe station, then a bus connection. Patients typically rent in Laureles (20 minutes by taxi) rather than near the hospital, since the Robledo rental market is not oriented toward foreigners. Best rental zone: Laureles or Belén.
Dental and hair transplant clinics — scattered across Poblado and Envigado
Most private dental and hair transplant clinics are in El Poblado along the Milla de Oro or in Envigado's medical corridor. Recovery from dental and hair work is less mobility-limiting, so you have more flexibility on location. Best rental zone: Poblado or Envigado, depending on the specific clinic.
What to Look For in a Recovery Apartment
Recovery stays have requirements that normal rentals don't. Prioritize these:
Elevator. Non-negotiable after any abdominal or lower-body surgery. Many Medellín buildings older than 15 years don't have one — ask explicitly, don't assume.
24-hour portería. A staffed lobby means someone is always at the building entrance to buzz in delivery riders (Rappi, iFood), visiting nurses, and your surgeon's follow-up team.
Hot water. Some Medellín apartments rely on electric shower heads (duchas eléctricas) that produce tepid water at best. Post-surgical patients need reliable hot water for wound care. Ask whether the building has a calentador de paso (gas tankless heater) or a calentador de acumulación (tank heater).
Pharmacy and grocery delivery radius. Confirm the apartment address is within Rappi and Droguerías delivery range — you should not need to leave the building during the first 5–7 days.
